Lizzo is a tiny diva with a big personality and a heart that’s just waiting to give its whole self to the right human. She starts out a little suspicious of newcomers—think of her as a celebrity who needs to vet her entourage before letting anyone backstage. But once you’re officially on her VIP list, she transforms into the sweetest, snuggliest lap ornament you’ve ever met. She will glue herself to your side on the couch, sleep curled against you like a warm little croissant and follow you around the house making sure her beloved human doesn’t get into any trouble.

She’s playful, full of spunk, and has impressive athletic talents, like her ability to leap over baby gates with the grace of a gazelle. She adores stuffed toys, dental chews, and long walks where she proudly struts her stuff… as long as her environment isn’t too loud or chaotic. Big noises and big commotion? She says no thank you. She’s a sensitive soul who thrives in quiet, predictable homes with humans who understand that trust takes time and patience.

Lizzo is protective of her space and her people, so she needs an adopter who understands her need for slow introductions. She’s been studying hard at her potty training lessons and has now graduated to potty trained status. She does great with dogs in the home, but kids are not her jam—she prefers adult-only households where she can be the pampered little queen she knows she was born to be.

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
